Hi, this is an eBay listing for an original NeXTSTEP programmers manual from NeXT Publishing and published by Addison-Wesley. NeXTSTEP was an OS and platform that Steve Jobs spear-headed for his NeXT Computer after he was fired from Apple and while his company failed to succeed in the market, it was widely and correctly hailed by many softare engineers as being well ahead of it’s time in many ways, and when the flailing Apple asked Steve Jobs to return to the company, Jobs would partially reform Apple as a continuation of NeXT, and would soon dump all of Apple’s various product lines both active and in-development, and move to a highly visually-retooled version of NeXTSTEP that would be called OS-X. This same system that once was targetted toward only the elite of academia would be running on a billion small devices in people’s pockets as iOS and even on wrists as WristOS.
This is an official programmer’s manual for NeXTSTEP that covers the two main developer tools (Project Builder and Interface Builder) as many other tools. Steve Jobs vision back in the 1980’s of where computing was going was without a doubt prescient.
