I initiated the cleaning and polishing process of the lid, but unfortunately, due to time constraints, I was unable to complete it. As a result, the new owner has the option to either restore it to its original condition or leave it as it is.

This is a brass kettle that was previously utilized by affluent Malays to dispense water for guests during special occasions such as weddings or festivals. Alternatively, it might have been employed to store water for the purpose of washing one's right hand after meals. It is typically crafted by the brass or bronze casters of Western Sumatra, particularly the Minangkabau.

The kettle comes with a movable handle and shows some signs of use.
