HISTORY
The factory was founded by the Austrians Edwige Hoffman and Heidrich Helm in Bassano del Grappa in 1912 to produce fountain pen nibs with precious materials: including gold and silver; the name was Manifattura Pennini Oro per Stilografiche - The Elmo Pen. In 1922 the factory moved to the site that has remained up to the present day, while the administrative offices have been located in via Cà Erizzo since the company was founded.
In 1925 Alessandro Marzotto and Domenico Manea bought the company and the current name after death in 1951, and then sold it to the Aquila family in the 1950s. After several years the production has developed contemplating various pen holder objects and some type of wristwatch. In more recent years, watches and other accessories, such as cufflinks and leather wallets as well as perfumes, have become important products for the commercial expansion of this company, beyond the traditional writing pens. The Neapolitan entrepreneur Gianfranco Aquila in 2000 sold the company to the Richemont Group to buy it back in 2009. The same company owns the Tibaldi company.
