CONDITION NOTES: VERY GOOD.  Cracks starting on tail of front joint only.  All joints rubbed.  No trouble in the hinges.  Full caps and solid page and cover attachment. Both joints rubbed. Corners rubbed. Two superficial gouges to back. Pages clean without marks, creases, or tears
BINDING: Full brown morocco with gilt tooled titles. All edges gilt. Dark red watered silk end papers.

A young journalist and photographer who traveled to California, especially Pasadena, Temescal Mountains, and Yosemite photographing and writing of his experiences for a Massachusetts magazine, as well as keeping a scrapbook of his adventures. 
Dying before his time, so common in the era, his mourning family found solace in preserving his words in this specially printed work.
