Have there ever been instances when someone made you feel guilty even though you knew you did nothing wrong? Maybe you had to cancel plans with your partner because you were tired or got called into work, even though the plans were made weeks ago. You know you had to go, and it was something that couldn't be ignored.
Instead of understanding the tough spot you were caught in, your partner says, "I was looking forward to that date. I cannot believe you canceled our plans even though they were made weeks earlier." Your partner suddenly looks sad and disappointed. This makes you feel guilty.
