Should helmets be mandatory for motorcyclists? The state of Michigan thought so for over four decades. Vince Consiglio and ABATE of MI disagreed. They looked at the surrounding states: Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Ohio. None of them had helmet laws. Michigan did. What the heck happened? Why couldn't experienced riders CHOOSE? Since the 1970s, Vince spent over 35 years fighting the helmet law, expanding the Motorcycle Safety program, and riding his motorcycle nearly every day. He always wore a helmet.
