You'll always win a race with a snail. They move very, very slowly but still manage to find food and shelter. Find out how long they can stay awake, how many teeth they have and what they use their tentacles for.

Level Pre-1 readers are aimed at children who are starting to read. Basic language, word repetition and short, simple sentences help kids read with confidence.

Ava is attending Okanagan College to study for an Associate of Arts diploma. After that she will continue her education, with the goal of becoming a teacher or a broadcast journalist. In her spare time, Ava enjoys writing children's books. Sarah became an editor after many years of working as a bookseller, columnist and reviewer. She has also taught courses on writing, editing and publishing. Sarah was an editor at Orca Book Publishers for thirteen years before she (semi)-retired to become a freelance editor. She is also the author of a baker's dozen of books for young readers (board book to YA). When she's not reading, writing or editing, Sarah runs around after her three grandchildren, does yoga, (to counteract the effects of running around after small children), walks, draws and meditates.
