Otherwise they would sound like everybody else. And they really don't want that...would you? By replacing certain components you make your pedal sound/react differently. Therefore the best thing to do is to learn how to modify your existing pedals and that's when you'll achieve a blow-your-head-off GREAT SOUND. The instructions are dead easy to follow and contain plenty of pictures. Even a person with no experience of soldering (I also include a step-by-step instruction manual on how to solder) can get the desired results.  This is an easy project that can be completed in about 30 minutes. Don't pay hundreds of pounds for a Boutique pedal when you can upgrade yours for the price of Big Mac meal. IMPORTANT:   Boss started using 'surface mounted' components. Check (using the SMC circuit board example in the image above) that you've NOT got a pedal that has Surface Mounted Components (printed circuit board).
