Voici le catalogue de la vente aux enchères consacrée aux "Icônes de la musique" qui eut lieu le 21 novembre 2009 au Hard Rock Café de New York (USA).

 

Organisée par la maison de vente aux enchères Julien's, la vente proposait 350 lots Beatles, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Bob Dylan, Aerosmith, Madonna, The Rolling Stones... Lettres, dédicaces, dessins, paroles de chansons, trophées, costumes de scène ou de clips célèbres, merchandising divers... les plus de 80 lots consacrés à Michael Jackson furent adjugés jusqu'à dix fois leur prix estimé. Ainsi le gant à paillettes utilisé pendant la prestation télévisée Motown 25th, estimé entre 40 000 et 60 000 dollars, atteignit finalement 350 000 dollars. Un blouson noir avec de multiples fermetures Eclair et boucles signé dans le dos que Michael portait pour son "Bad World Tour" fut vendu 225 000 dollars et un simple chapeau feutre partit pour 22 000 dollars.
 
Une partie des recettes provenant de cette vente fut reversée à la fondation MusiCares, créée pour venir en aide aux musiciens en difficulté.

Si vous n'aviez pas eu la chance de vous rendre à cette vente aux enchères, voici l'occasion de découvrir tous les trésors de Michael regroupés dans un superbe catalogue de 200 pages (édition limitée) illustré de centaines de photos couleurs et descriptions détaillées. Il était à l'origine vendu avec un second catalogue de 60 pages avec Steven Tyler en couverture (non inclus ici). Un must absolu !

You're bidding on a fantastic sale catalogue that was created in an extremely LIMITED EDITION to promote the MUSIC ICONS Julien's Auctions which took place on November 21st at The Hard Rock Cafe in New York's Times Square.


This magnificent offering and unprecedented auction event featured memorabilia from 68 artists including such legendary greats as Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Van Halen, ZZ Top, KISS, The Ramones, Aerosmith, Nirvana, Cher, Debbie Harry, Prince, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Bo Diddley and Bob Dylan.

 

Michael Jackson's iconic white-sequined glove from his historic performance on the Motown 25th anniversary television special in 1983 sold at auction for 350,000 dollars. Other memorabilia sold included sparkle-encrusted shoes and socks, portraits of Charlie Chaplin drawn by Jackson as a child, a black jacket decorated with multiple zips and buckles that Jackson wore for his Bad World Tour, a 1985 Mercedes, handwritten letters, and posters... Almost every lot was sold, commonly at three or more times the estimated price and often at least 10 times over, with bidders from Australia, Dubai, France, Hong Kong and Japan competing by telephone or internet with the raucous, highly excited crowd in the room.
