1917 World War I officer's cover sent by Brigadier General W.S. Scott to Philadlephia PA.  Military postmark #700; with Scott's name in return address and signature as censor; appears to be in his handwriting.  William Sherley Scott (1856-1941) graduated from West Point in 1880 and served in the Spanish American War as well as WWI, where he served as brigadier.   He retired in 1920 and was a banker in Texas thereafter until his death.  Highly unusual to see general's mail from WWI; cover with mounting stains on back.
