Up for grabs is a good, low mileage, ready to run Ford (Mazda) M5R2 2WD
transmission for various year F150's and possibly other models. (Small block Ford bolt pattern- will work with 302, 351, 300, 4.2L. Will not work with 4.6L/5.4L modular motors!) VERY CLEAN CONDITION!
We pulled the top plate from this transmission for inspection and all
internals are in absolutely MINT condition.
Trans code is "XL34". (Please be aware that there are essentially two versions of SBF bellhousing/2WD Ford M5R2's- early versions have a mechanical speedo drive and shifter location is more centered on the top plate, later versions have an electronic speed sensor/VSS and shifter location is more rearward on the top plate. This transmission is the later style.)
Only issue is this transmission is missing the shifter stub and seal plate, we had to borrow it for another job. Also missing a drain plug and the output shaft seal. They are readily available
for dirt cheap online either from here or any manual transmission parts distributor.
Or, you could use the old ones from your failed trans, if you have it...
GOOD NEWS: This transmission sports a proper SBF bellhousing bolt
pattern, shifter location is absolutely perfect when installed in a
Ranger, dirt cheap clutch kits are available from Rockauto, it shifts a WHOLE lot nicer than any T5, and it's a fairly strong trans
(if you're <400hp don't worry about it). This is the PERFECT unit for a
2WD 5.0/302/351 swap into a Ranger, hence why I bought it in the first
place... Unfortunately, my project got tremendously pushed back and now
won't be happening anytime soon, so I am going to let this trans go. Don't want to spend years storing it, my
loss is your gain.
LOCAL PICKUP (FREE) IS MUCH PREFERRED. But, if you are willing to pay the price, I can crate this and ship it via truck freight. I'll need a good 4-5 days to get that done. You also MUST provide me with a proper business/commercial address to ship to. Any residential/limited truck access address will result in $150-200+ surcharges from the trucking company and/or order cancellation.
