Lesney (Matchbox)
Bedford Tractor Cab Unit
from Major Packs No. 2 - 1957
Silver/Grey

Lesney was the company that launched the Matchbox range of miniature diecast models in the 1950s. Matchbox grew to become one of the UK's most successful toy companies, but ran into financial difficulties in the 1980s, prompting a succession of takeovers. The brand continued under the ownership of Universal Toys then Tyco, and is now owned by its long-time rival Mattel, who also make the Hot Wheels brand.

This little lorry cab is a Bedford Tractor Unit, and it was part of the "Major Packs" No. 2 set made in 1957. There were a number of different variants, and the silver/grey cab is harder to find than the more common red and orange versions.

Good pre-owned condition. Moderately playworn, with some chips and scratches. See photos - all photos show actual item.
