Mr.

Doan was educated at Univ. of Mich. In 1917, he entered the employ of the Dow

Chemical Co. and by 1929 had become general sales manager; a director in 1935;

vice-president in 1938; secretary of the corporation in 1941; and president of

the company in 1949. In 1960, he was chairman of the Board of Dow Corning Corp.

and served as a director of Mich. Bell Telephone Co., the National Bank of

Detroit, the Armed Services Chemical Assoc., the Health Information Assoc., and

was a trustee of the National Industrial Conference Board. He received five

honorary degrees and was a Regent of Univ. of Michigan
