Aron Nimzowitsch was a dangerous grandmaster. He beat world champions by the devious ideas he hatched. He was also a father of the Hypermodern movement, which emphasized control of the center by using pieces from the wings, rather than occupy the center with pawns. He invented this defense (1. e4 Nc6) to pursue his Hypermodern ideals. It is a difficult defense to play, but worth studying--it is a good surprise weapon.  A very nice production by Batsford. Please note that this work by T.D. Harding, the noted correspondence master from Ireland, is a "master" rating from Batsford.

We combine shipping-to combine, put everything in a basket and then ask for an invoice. This comes from the private library of Allan Troy, late owner of Troy's Chess Shoppe, Torrance, California. Follow us for our ongoing sale of 18th, 19th, and 20th century chess books and clocks! We put up a pendulum tilt clock from the 19th century!

We are lengthening our shipping time window to 20 business days. We normally ship in less time but we cannot control these circumstances.  We regret the inconvenience and hope to return to ten days in the near future.
