A beautiful hand painted landscape plate with a named view of "The Mill on the Stock-gill".  As you know, "named views" are scarce and quite sought after.  There is no maker's mark on the back. Hand written in red script on the back: The mill on the Stock-gill near Ambleside. This plate is dated c.1840 or earlier.
