Stories of railroads, cattle, farming, outlaws, and towns from California's San Joaquin Valley.
.
A labor of love by the Rathers who wrote, hand set, printed and bound only 100 volumes of a very useful history of the railroads and their early monopoly control of San Joaquin and Sacramento Valley farm economy.   While the text, paper, and print quality is outstanding, the binding doesn't rise to same high quality, being made of a rather typical hardcover and quarter cloth that could have been much better done at a specialist bindery.
