Wilhelm Hammer (* 13. November 1875 in Feldkirch, Vorarlberg; † 26 December 1942 in Innsbruck, Tyrol) was an Austrian geologist.

Life: Wilhelm Hammer studied at the University of Innsbruck, passed the teaching examination in 1899 and received his doctorate (Dr. phil. In 1901 he joined the kk Geological Reichsanstalt, later the Geological Federal Institute, of which he was director from 1932 to 1935.

His central work was the geological exploration and re-recording of the Tyrolean Central Alps. The upper Ennstal and the Kitzbühel Alps were also his research goals.

In 1920 and 1921 he was also chairman of the Geological Society.
