A finely bound example of a state of the art astronomy classic, updated for 1893.  Binders possibly removed [18] pages of adverts at back. Full index is present. Remarkable for it's beautifully printed plates, exquisite in this printing. Discussion of Orion Nebula, accompanied by a new detailed engraving, sets the table well for debates on the origins of stars and the relative distance of various nebulae (i.e. spiral vs. amorphous) resolved by Hubble.
