A rare American Low Portrait tile produced in the Art Tile works Chelsea Mass USA

A wonderful tile in a deep olive green glaze. Arthur Osbourne was the designer. He was a designer who originated from England originally working for Flaxman / Wade. It is thought that the majority of the portrait designs for Low were his work. Some tiles like this one are marked with the initials A O , his monogram being a letter  "A" within a circle. The back is clearly impressed with all of the company details. The tile came framed so this is available for free on request. The tile is clearly marked copyright 1881, however it could be slightly latter
