A late Victorian period cabinet plate by Minton. It is in the Aesthetic style and has the date cipher for 1887 to the reverse along with the Mintons impressed mark. The border is a deep cobalt blue (has come out more black in the images) and has finely detailed gilding. There is a pale blue glaze to the well. In the center is a reserve with Kingfishers and bullrushes in gold.
Condition
Generally very good for period. Fine crazing. A couple of small scratches to the light blue and very minor gilt wear.
