The team are named after part owner Nolan Ryan, nicknamed The Ryan Express, an MLB Hall of Fame pitcher. Based in Texas, the team are an affiliate of the Texas Rangers MLB team. Forbes recently listed the Express as the sixth-most valuable MiLB team with a value of $40 million. Some notable alumni include Roger Clemens, José Urquidy, Taylor Teagarden and Hunter Pence.
