They bid on three typewritten, signed letters the Austrian ÖVP politicians Karl Schleinzer (1924-1975), Federal Minister for Agriculture and Forestry.


 

Dated Vienna, 9. June, 15th September and 9th November 1967. Two letters with the original envelope.


 

Attached is another letter from the ministry (Vienna, 26. September 1967), signed "Schmitz" on commission.


 

Addressed to the private scholar (private meteorologist) Egon S. from Graz. He worked professionally as a mechanic and, through years of private research, put together a theory of how to do things by taking into account the sun, moon and planets Storms can be predicted for years to come (!) and also the weather over a longer period of time. With the results of his research, in which no one else was involved, he turned to research institutes, ministries, the press and publishers, but without success. However, there was an exchange of letters with some researchers and politicians; The Graz daily newspaper “Süd-Ost-Tagespost” even published some of his articles in 1968.


 

Karl Schleinzer asks Egon S. to tell him which methods he uses in his forecasts and refers him to the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics under Ferdinand Steinhauser to have them checked.


 

Attached are nine letters from Egon S. to Karl Schleinzer or the Ministry, dated 28. April to 22nd November 1967, present as Typescript carbon copy, one of which is incomplete (only the first page is available), and one letter dated 24. July 1966 to the State Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry in Graz.


 

Also enclosed are two treatises by Egon S.:


-"Sun, moon and planets move and control the earth's atmosphere" (5 pages of original typescript, signed)


-"Reality theory about the movement and directional control of the Earth's atmosphere by the Moon. From our own research." (3 pages typescript carbon copy).

Karl Schleinzer (* 8th. Janner 1924 in Frantschach-Sankt Gertraud im Lavanttal; † 19. July 1975 in Bruck an der Mur) was an Austrian politician and federal minister from 1961 to 1970. Schleinzer was the ÖVP's candidate for chancellor in the 1975 National Council election, but he died in a traffic accident a few months before the election.

Life: After attending elementary school and middle school, Karl Schleinzer graduated from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences with a doctorate. In the spring of 1943 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht and ended the war in 1945 as a reserve lieutenant in British captivity. The trained farmer was then elected to the Carinthian state parliament as a member of the ÖVP in 1956. In 1959 he became state party chairman of the Carinthian ÖVP and then from 1960 to 1961 he became state councilor for agriculture and forestry and managing director of the Carinthian Farmers' Association. From 1961 to 1964 he took over the post of Defense Minister under Federal Chancellor Alfons Gorbach and then from 1964 to 1970 under Federal Chancellor Josef Klaus Federal Minister for Agriculture and Forestry.

After the change of power to the SPÖ, Schleinzer was ÖVP general secretary under federal party chairman Hermann Withalm from 1970 to 1971.

Until his death, Karl Schleinzer was always a member of the National Council for the ÖVP. At 4. In June 1971, he was elected federal party chairman of the Austrian People's Party at the extraordinary party conference in Vienna with 286 of 423 valid votes (67%) [4], he served in this position from then on and was the ÖVP's top candidate for the 1975 National Council election.

Fatal accident: Saturday 19th In July 1975, Schleinzer returned from vacation in Rhodes and then drove home from Vienna in his private car towards Carinthia. During this trip he had an accident in a head-on collision with a Turkish tractor-trailer on the then notorious guest workers route in Bruck an der Mur. The then senior surgeon in surgery at the Bruck/Mur State Hospital, Berger, could only determine death. Microsleep was suspected to be the cause of the accident. At the time there were rumors about possible manipulation of the then ÖVP chairman's Ford Granada. A memorial plaque was later erected at the site of the accident.
