You bid two handwritten documents the end Wels (Upper Austria) and Kremsmünster.

Concerns the Families Stubok / Stupöck (today usually written Stuböck or Stuppöck) and quarter

1.) 2-page protocol (32.5 x 20.5 cm), recorded by the magistrate in Wels on the 3rd Nov. 1847.

The master hat maker widow Elisabeth Viertl in Kremsmünster and her son, the master hat maker Karl Viertl in Sierning, agree to take care of the children of the wheelwright Theresia Stupök, and in return receive financial support from the magistrate, as they are penniless themselves.

The conditions of this foster care are specified in detail.

The children are Katharina Stubök (8 years old), Alexander Stubök (5 years old) and Marie Stubök (3 years old).

After a blank page, the last page is followed by a statement from the Wels magistrate dated 9. November 1847 that the guardianship should last "as long as the Stubokische parents are not able to take care of one or the other of their children themselves."

2.) 2-page will (33.8 x 21.5 cm) of Elise Viertl in Kremsmünster; undated (around 1860).

It is certainly the Elisabeth Viertl from the 1. Document.

Their children Therese and Karl as well as their grandson Rudolf, son of their daughter Therese, are considered; also those in the 1. Documents mention underage Katharina and Maria Stubök (Alexander Stubök has probably died since he is no longer mentioned here).

At thegrandson Rudolph it is about Rudolf Apfelthaller (* summer 1856 in Linz as the son of Theodor Apfelthaller and Theresia, b. quarter).

1. July 1893: Founding of the "1. Upper Austrian fruit wine press company Apfelthaller & Co." in Linz, together with Wilhelm Hirsch. They took over the winery from Hermann Hofmann, Franz Hofmann's son. In 1897 the company was dissolved.

The will was written not long after Rudolf's birth (1856), since Katharina Stubök, who was born around 1839, was not yet of legal age.
