Civil War Model 1850 Foot Officers Etched Sword with Sharkskin Scabbard. The ricasso is marked with the Keystone/Tombstone that is by Emerson & Silver. The grip is tight, the guard and pommel do wiggle. The cap of the pommel has what is typically on a M1852 USN Sword, the eagle facing over its right shoulder with stars around the edge. The sharkskin grip is 95% complete, a few small spots of loss and a little shrinkage at the seam. The twisted wire is complete. The etched blade is straight, unsharpened, some nicks on the lower half, age spots scattered throughout, and is unusual because it does not have a US or an eagle on it. The sharkskin scabbard is solid, the seam shows a very tiny bit of shrinkage, the brass mounts and drag have some small dents/dings/age spots. Washer is missing. Length of the blade measures 32 1/8" (1 1/16" wide x 1/4" thick), length of the sword is 37 7/8", and in the scabbard it is 39".
