With this product description we want to draw your attention to a few special features and use the operating instructions to show how easy assembly is.
The Chamberlain motto also applies to the goal arm for your canopy goal: easy to install.
The Canopy gate arm – the individual solution for your garage First of all, it should be said that the Canopy gate arm is both
Suitable for mounting on one-piece tilting gates with vertical rails as well as for gates with a combination of vertical and horizontal rails.
The Canopy gate arm therefore covers a wide Spektrum of possible areas of application and the most common garage door variants.
Only for sectional doors, fully retractable doors or The special goal arm for canopy goals is not suitable for tilting goals with goal post fittings.
To make your purchase decision easy, we want to show you in advance that a wide variety of installation solutions can be implemented with the Canopy gate arm. We also provide a PDF operating manual online for the special goal arm for Canopy goals,
so that you can get a good feel for the assembly before you buy.
Let's go through a few variations together.
The goal arm for canopy goals in various assembly situations We first turn to the standard situation
– Here the gate arm for a canopy gate is mounted at a garage entrance without a lintel.
To install the gate arm on the garage door, two 4.8 mm thick and 25 mm deep holes must first be drilled.
Thanks to Chamberlain, you are already well prepared for different variants. For metal gates or
For garage doors with metal struts, use the sheet metal screws provided - for doors with wooden struts, use the wood screws provided.
When aligning the door arm, you should make sure that it is in line with the rail of the garage door drive.
Also align vertically using a spirit level so that the gate does not “hook” later.
The illustration in the operating instructions clearly shows how the door arm is attached to the garage door drive using a rail set.
The door situation may require additional profiles to be installed on the door arm in order to ensure stability in relation to the cross braces of the garage door.
Chamberlain also thinks about this and supplies additional profiles with total lengths of 117, 122, 127 or 132 cm.
Without the additional profile, the mounting length of the Canopy goal arm is approx. 74cm.
In the second installation situation, we assume a garage door with a lintel that protrudes inwards. Here too, the illustration shows very well what is important during assembly.
Since the carriage of the garage door drive “moves” closer to the canopy door arm, the connection must be shortened accordingly.
It is also important to attach the curved goal arm provided for dimensional stability and smooth running.
The right angle is important here: To check, slowly open the garage door completely by hand. The Canopy gate arm must not touch the drive rail.
If this is the case, simply use a different hole on the gate arm's mounting rail and change the angle. Note: Formulated as pure text,
The assembly may sound a bit complicated. However, that is not the case. Simply refer to the operating instructions and pictures for assembly.
As the illustrations show, the sophisticated goal arm for canopy goals can even be used
if there is a structural obstacle on the ceiling in the way and the tilting door is guided using double rails.
If any questions still arise, our competent customer service is of course available via email and telephone.
