ROYAL BRITISH NAVY 1/2 GILL SHOT GLASS LOGO  This is a British Royal Navy copper cup or shot glass that measures in 'Gills' and not the better know ounces. This is a vintage copper cup with the Crown R N Anchor logo stamped on the bottom and on the side of the cup is 'GI 1/2 LL' or 1/2 a Gill, a gill is a measurement for a shot of rum.

At the end of every day the boys of the Royal Navy would lift their copper mug, toast the Queen and then drink their daily gill of rum. That tradition ended in 1970 but they still make the Pusser's Blue Label rum. The condition of the cup very good.   I didn't clean the Copper since many  want that patina and don't want things cleaned.  The cup is a heavy metal with the over sized handle on the side. The cup is 2" tall and 2" across the top, the handle sticks out by 1 1/4".
