I thought I would use it but somehow I don't. So it really should not collect dust here when someone else could get a kick out of this. Super handy, fits in your seat pocket and even has a neutral grey card in case you shoot in Cine EI. Opens like a little book but keeps the "pages" open with friction so you can just set it up on a table etc.
What is this and how does it work?
Shoot this color chart every time your lighting situation changes. Most editing and color grading software has the color checker built in. It perfectly calibrates your shot in post without having to perform white balance when shooting. White balancing just applies gain to individual color channels of sensor and that increases noise. Performing this in post lets you do the same thing while using the sensor at optimal performance.
