The Bisnowat 5 was a Soviet experimental aircraft from the Cold War period. The prototype flight took place in 1948. The length of this aircraft - in the 5-2 - was 11.2 meters with a wingspan of 6.6 meters. The drive was provided by a single RD-2M-3VF engine with a thrust of 19.62 kN. The machine did not have on-board weapons.

Two Bisnowat 5 planes (5-1 and 5-2) were built on the basis of the design of the German DFS 346 aircraft captured by the Soviets in 1945. The planes were also to test theoretical assumptions for flights at sub- and supersonic speeds in practice. It was also planned to test the aerodynamic properties of the machine with oblique wings. Originally, it was assumed that this type of aircraft would take off from the ground on its own, but it was later decided that they would be carried into the air attached to the Petlakow Pe-8 bomber - similar to the Bell X-1 machine under the B-29. The experience gained during the tests carried out with both Bisnowat 5 aircraft was of considerable importance for the development of Soviet jet aircraft in the early 1950s.
