This is a rare oversized October 11th, 1880 program (playbill) from the one-week engagement of the musical stage adaptation of the JULES VERNE classic "AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS" at the Globe Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts. (The play was first performed in Paris in 1874, adapted for the stage by Jules Verne and Adolphe D' Ennery. The play was translated into English and brought to the United States by the Kiralfy Brothers, opening August 28th, 1875 at the New York Academy of Music. The first of a long line of revivals that continued until 1892, opened January 22nd, 1877 at Niblo's Garden in New York City.) ..... The musical spectacle starred Mlle. CONDITION: (Please Note!) There are a number of tiny edge tears, a heavy fold across the middle, tears on each side of the fold, creasing at the corners and along the seam and moderate edge wear. Despite these flaws, this rare program will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
