Late 19th century Rogers Bros silver plated table spoon (serving spoon) in Assyrian pattern featuring the prominent head with ornate scroll work and ribbons.  Spoon measures approx 8..25" overall with the bowl approx 2 7/8" long and 1  11/16"  at its widest. USA made. Stamped "(star) Rogers & Bro A1". It is not monogrammed or otherwise customized.

Spoon is in fair condition with considerable wear throughout, pitting in the bowl and a heel spot approx 3/16" diameter. See pictures for overall condition.

The Assyrian pattern was produced 1886-1892. The desirable head was only included on the serving pieces, while place pieces were blank at the top of the handle. Despite its condition, this spoon remains a striking piece that is looking for a home that will appreciate its unique beauty.
