Stunning hand made large Persian rug believed to be from the 1940's -1950's, originally purchased from the renowned department store Jenners in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Size is 5.2m x 3.6m
It has been the centrepiece of a lounge of a family home for more than 70+ years and the rug is in remarkable condition for its age, however it does show clear signs of wear and fading and places. Please see images to get a clear view on each section of the rug.
The rug was professionally cleaned and moth treated (receipt image included) and the rug had an estimated auction value of around £6500 in its current condition, however with some of the suggested restoration / colour work undertaken the value would likely be much, much higher. We have also been informed that any colour restoration work would likely be straight forward.
This is a quick sale and likely a bargain for someone with knowledge of high end eastern rug auctions.
