Thrifting find. Vintage sheath dress with matching boxy cropped jacket, circa 1950s to early 1960s. Beige fabric with lacy overlay, and fully lined in a satiny material. The jacket has elbow-length sleeves, three oversized fabric-covered buttons with top snap, and a shawl collar. The dress has cap sleeves, back zip, and a peachy-pink ribbon trim at the waist with a fringed accent. There is a tag inside the dress that reads "Lot" and "Size 16" but this dress is smaller than a modern-day 16. I would guess it to run more like a modern 10. Model is 5'6" and 125 pounds and usually wears a size 4. The dress and jacket fits rather loosely on her as shown; measurements shown in the photos. They were taken with the dress laid flat, measuring straight across. Armpit to armpit is about 19 inches. Shoulder seam to shoulder seam is about 15.5 inches. Waist is about 16 inches. Hips are 19 inches. Length of dress from back of neckline to bottom hem is 40.5 inches. The underarms on the dress are wrinkly, but I could find no stains, tears, or damage and no strong or disagreeable odors. Regal brand metal zipper works as it should.
