(Excerpt from the presentation by Maria José Guazzelli)

This is a fundamental publication for all those who are interested in knowing and preserving our trees.

Fruit of a work of more than 10 years, Book of Trees is the result of intense research and the love that the agronomist and landscaper

Rubens Alberto Longhi dedicates to trees.

Here the native species found in the south of Brazil were raised and meticulously studied. Scientific names, vulgar names, size, geographical distribution, botanical description, information about seeds, leaves, branches, trunks, flowers, wood, reproduction, application of their leaves in medicine were raised. In each species presented, there is a complete and unprecedented photographic survey carried out by the author that includes photos of the tree itself, leaf, flower, seed and trunk. In addition to a mandatory reference for scientific study, this book also represents an important historical record.

Some southern native species recorded and studied in this work are currently in the process of extinction.

And with the tree and its function in life and agriculture. ()

Do not destroy to be able to know, to know so as not to have you. Without a doubt, this book is a precious contribution to the construction of the new paradigm of a civilization that gradually discovers itself, finally, as part of the fabric of life and not as its weaver.
