Very good to excellent, 170mm SR Apex retro, forged cranks. Virtual clone of Stronglight Model 99 and compatible with its chain rings. This set is configured as "compact" road double gearing with 48 x 34 tooth x 86 BCD chain rings - perfect for lots of climbing or for an older person like myself. They offer nice, straight arms for a narrow Q-factor - again, perfect for someone with bio-mechanically challenged hips like mine. They can can easily be made into a triple, just choose a chain ring, use the included longer fixing bolt kit, and (likely) get a wider bottom bracket axle. I have personally used this model crank on 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9-speed drive trains. May work just fine on 10-speed but I have not tried it. All the ones I tried worked more than adequately. But you do, of course, have to use the proper chain.

This particular set is really very nice. The threads and tapers are perfect. There is some very minor shoe scuffing - which is to be expected from cranks like these with a satin finish. But I went out of my way to protect them by encasing the arms in clear heat-shrink tubing - which I have removed for this listing - and that worked quite well.

The set includes:
This set also includes the original box - which is in fair to good shape (the cranks themselves survived better than the box - which I am surprised I even kept around).

The outer ring is likely a SR as it is not stamped other than the 48 for the tooth count but it could be from another maker. The inner ring is clearly marked "Stronglight" and 34 for the tooth count. They are almost new - there is plenty of life left in them. Should you want to procure additional rings in sizes like this, I plan to list some soon.

The double chain ring bolts are marked SR and fit beautifully (but In have tightened them only loosely - so make sure you tighten them properly prior to using).
