Winnigstedt is a municipality in the district of Wolfenbüttel in Lower Saxony on the state border with Saxony-Anhalt. It is a member community of the Samtgemeinde Elm-Asse, which has its administrative headquarters in the town of Schöppenstedt.
The von Damm family belonged to the Braunschweig city nobility.
