Alan/CTE YUPPIE ~ Wireless Microphone System For CB Radio
Long before Bluetooth, Alan/CTE/Midland developed a wireless microphone for CB Radio
- Amplified microphone with slider volume control
- Power : 9v battery for mic, 12v-14vDC for receiver box
- Receiver box on/off switch with ON LED
- Useable range depends on many factors but usually 6-20 feet
- Supplied with a luminous microphone holder
- Factory wired for Midland 4-pin (Cybernet) obviously you can rewire for any radio
- Rare item, especially unused
I've run a CB Radio retailer (Communication Eleven) since 1996... we're clearing some N.O.S. (new old stock) items from our stockroom, this is one of them
Back in the day I used to do a lot of Land Rover shows, Agricultural fairs etc and these used to sell particularly well as i could demo them there and then
I only have 1 of these units left, it's not the demo unit I used at shows but this was the last one in stock which I kept aside when I found out I wouldn't be able to get any more
There's a small chip of paint missing, some rubbing of the wording on the front and some rubbing on the top of the unit... the box has some storage & transport rash
Other than a few shows it's been in my stockroom for probably 25 years as I stopped doing most shows around 2001
This isn't quite "wireless" by todays' standards (i.e. no visible antennae) as both the hand mic and the receiver box both have wire aerials that "dangle" ... this is by design as both aerials dangling straight down means they are polarised with each other and you'll get maximum range
If you don't need much range, i.e. if you're just using it within one room or inside a vehicle cab, then you should get away with hiding the receivers' aerial away - experimentation might be needed in aerial placement for maximum range
It needs a 12v / 13.8v DC supply - the + power wire is the little red wire coming from the plug that goes into the CB
Rewiring for use on 6-pin radios : (Do NOT short that middle pin!)... The power wire is in with the microphone cable which allows you to use the 12vDC supply available on the 6th (middle) pin on the Standard GDCH 6-Pin wiring (most modern 6-pin radios except TTi, RCI and some Inteks)
No Returns : I'm retiring, selling off various bits and pieces I've kept aside from the 27 years I've earned my living in the CB Radio trade... I've no reason to think this won't work perfectly, they were very reliable especially considering the agricultural machines some of these ended up in, but I'm not able to return these to a supplier or simply send you another, so... No Returns - please buy with this in mind
Size : TBAmm Wide X TBAmm Deep x TBAmm High (forgot to measure it)
