Offered is a vintage Rushton rubber face sleeping baby doll, (sold circa late 60’s early 70’s); pink, plush faux fur-like fabric. The stuffed doll is attached to a zippered bag, originally meant for pajamas, could also hold a small pillow. It is in very good to excellent pre owned condition. Has seen little wear. Rubber face clean and paint is vibrant. Tuft of curled blonde hair on forehead intact. Original lavender bow intact. Faux fur material is quite plush, with a beautiful sheen and extremely well preserved. Faux fur has some light soil marks in spots-see photos. Doll attaches to fur bag with a snap, but can not open it. The doll is tagged as The Rushton Co. Atlanta Ga and Rushton Star Creation on the other side. Comes from a smoke-free environment-no odors. The Rushton Toy Company was a toy company founded by native Atlantan, Mary Rushton in 1917. The company was a family-owned and operated business, and Mary’s daughter, Wight Rushton, designed all of the toys. The company was in business until 1983.
