Fender ’62 AVRI Telecaster Ocean Turquoise 2004 Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have a Fender ’62 American Vintage Reissue Telecaster in Ocean Turquoise finish. Made in the USA in 2004, this guitar features a bolt-on construction consisting of an Alder body, Maple neck and a 21 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other features include a 3-Saddle American Vintage Strings-Through-Body Tele Bridge with Brass Saddles, Fender Vintage style 6-in a line tuning machine. The pickups installed are a pair of Fender '62 Custom single-coils which were designed specifically for this guitar, these are wired to a 4-way blade switch, master volume, master tone control with an added push/pull phase control.

The Maple neck plays well, with a profile that resembles Fender's popular 'C' profile feeling comfortable in the hand and offering comfortable playability in all registers. The Rosewood fingerboard provides a durable playing surface, and with its 7.25" radius strikes a nice balance between easy chord playing and practicality for lead lines and string bending. The familiar lines of the Telecaster body feel as great in the arms as ever, and provide a comfortable playing experience in both standing or seated positions. Applied to the neck is a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer which grants a slick feel, which will only become smoother over time.

The Fender '62 Custom single-coil pickups provide the player with the classic telecaster sound that has been sought after for generations, this period-correct single-coil provides a tight low end and clear, balanced midrange whilst offering a crystalline high end. The upgraded controls offer the player with more tonal posabilities, in the first position the bridge pickup is engaged, position two the neck and bridge pickups are connected in parallel offering a authentic telecaster twang, in position three only the neck pickup is engaged and position four bridge and neck pickups are engaged in series offering a huge humbucker esque tone. The upgraded wiring harness also comes with a push/pull phase switch, on switch positions one and three you can switch the pickups out of phase by pulling up the tone knob, providing the player with a vast array of tonal possibilities.

Weight: 7.8lbs

Serial Number: V145320

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition, the bass side of the headstock demonstrates a moderate indentation which cracks the finish. A similar indentation can be found to the top edge. The finish on the headstock has experienced checking which is common with nitrocellulose finishes.

Neck: Overall very good condition, the rear of the neck demonstrates light yet consistent indentation throughout the entire register which can only be slightly felt under the thumb in playing position. This does not affect the overall playability of the instrument. Light indentation is apparent to the fingerboard at the second fret.

Body: Overall very good condition, moderate indentations cracking the finish are apparent to the bass side of the lower bout and surrounding the jack socket. Lighter indentations continue around the bottom edge and on the treble side shoulder. The finish surrounding the neck plate has chipped away in places, revealing the wood beneath. The binding on the front face on the cutaway has slightly come away from the body, this should not worsen over time. The finish on the body has experienced checking which is common with nitrocellulose finishes.

The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
