HAND SEWN HAT! New debut this week is a completely hand stitched Straw high crown Garden Hat for colonial 18th-19th c reenactment and dressy daytime wear done in early Autumn colors of Coral Cantaloupe and Ivory Grosgrain wide premium ribbons that suggest a juicy Creamsicle!
The hat blank is pure Vintage straw that I blanket traded at actual battle reenactment to provide some history, upon which I surrounded the crown with acres of Coral Cantaloupe premium Ofray grosgrain ribbon, hand ruching (ruffling) it all around thickly like piped icing. I added a hand stitched double layer rear thick bow tie and matching long streamers to hang down the back and fly in garden breeze outdoors. Secure the hat onto your head with long ivory ribbons underneath to provide maximum exposure to sun hitting your delicate face!
The diameter of hat is 16" across, the head opening circle is 7.5" wide average size will fit all women, and crown height is 4" tall. This is designed to be easy fitting, pretty, period correct appearance and hoping it becomes your favorite hat that will last a long time, and will not look garish or cheap....it is after all, Lady Ellens Fine Ware own branding. I added a luscious feathery poufy white Ostrich curved Plume Feather to flutter along one side to coordinate color scheme. All details....plume, bow, tie, are all securely stitched tightly down.

There is over 10 hours labor to laboriously and invisibly hand stitched all the details, even the bow is secretly stitched to provide unravel quality even in wind, fullness, stays put in place. The straw is gently flexible, NOT stiff or crackly.
NOTES: The straw blank is slight vintage showing tiny roughness along a 3" section of front wide brim edge barely noticeable adds character and charm. Spool of ivory ribbon had a color flaw on it as pointed out but I soaked it a bit and flaw is now hardly visible, if at all, in mainstream view. I simply advise buyers that all antique items carry preloved small touches that bring Living History to life,
