Very old books. Dating this is difficult but from research, we know that the British publisher Lovell, Coryell & Co., based in the United States in New York was founded in 1892. They published many British authors and works for an American audience. They published the Sherlock Holmes works in America. There was a Boston based publisher of Macauley's works as well and those were printed in the late 1800's.

I would suggest that these books were published somewhere between the late 1890's to the 1910's. That is my informed guess but I am not entirely sure. I received these from a small sale where I found many antique books.

Macauley was an important figure in Liberal British history. These works compose many essays, poems and writings of historical significance from the period of the mid 19th century.

Enjoy!
