Oben in der Mitte befindet sich eine Krone und links darüber das Profilbild von Großherzog Jean, das Jahr 1964. Unterhalb der Profilbilder sind die Namen „Jean“ und „Henri“ sowie das Jahr 2014 eingraviert. Die Inschrift „50e ANNIVERSAIRE DE „L'ACCESSION AU TRÔNE DU GRAND-DUC JEAN“ verläuft um den oberen Rand des inneren Teils der Münze. Der äußere Ring der Münze zeigt die 12 Sterne der Flagge der Europäischen Union.

At the top center there is a crown and on the left above it is the profile picture of Grand Duke Jean, the year 1964. Below the profile pictures the names “Jean” and “Henri” and the year 2014 are engraved. The inscription “50e ANNIVERSAIRE DE “L'ACCESSION AU TRÔNE DU GRAND-DUC JEAN” runs around the top edge of the inner part of the coin. The outer ring of the coin shows the 12 stars of the European Union flag.
