On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of his death, a series of woodblock prints that he worked on as the major work of the latter half of his life are exhibited. Born in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Yoshida Hiroshi began his training in Western-style painting as a young man, and refined his skills by observing the artistic styles of the East and West through numerous overseas experiences, which were rare for a Japanese artist of that time. This book offers a glimpse into the fascinating world of Hiroshi Yoshida, who broke new ground as a printmaker while maintaining his background as a Western-style painter and landscape artist. This is the official catalog of the "70th Anniversary of the Death of Hiroshi Yoshida" exhibition.
