My Grandparents got this in either the very late '80's or early '90's.  I feel it's more the '90's.  My late aunt, their daughter, was an artist whose speciality was ancient Egyptian art.  I later married an Egyptian guy so the amount of Egyptian themed art in the house was a lot!  This was always a favorite because it really makes a statement no matter where you place it.  They never explored playing with lighting (it's lovely with natural light), but I bet this could look so great with someone who was skilled at that.
