This is a solid brass squirrel cage toilet paper holder from the Victorian era c1900 that has been restored and replated in polished nickel.  It is an extremely rare piece and one that is pretty much unobtainable in this modern age.  I am not certain who the manufacturer was, but it could have been any one of the higher end makers of bathroom accessories such as Art Brass, NY, Standard Sanitary, Wolff, Meyer Sniffen, Brasscrafters, etc.  It is not marked, but not all makers marked their pieces.  It has the original wooden spindle that is in excellent condition considering its age and is not broken or split.  This holder does not fit a modern double roll of toilet paper, but a single roll will work and after a bit of looking around, I found that you can buy single rolls on-line on Amazon. (who knew??).  I will include one with your purchase to get you started.  It measures 6”w x 5”h and will project 5” from the wall once installed.  A true collector of vintage bathroom accessories will covet this rare piece!
