This is a self-printed, beautiful example of Hiroshi Yoshida's 1933 woodblock print of Evening in Nara with the Jizuri seal clearly visible in the upper left margin. It is pencil signed by Hiroshi Yoshida in the lower right margin. It has been professionally conserved is matted using acid free museum quality mat board and is in an exquisite frame with UV blocking, anti-reflective museum glass. The print has not been trimmed, though I'm not removing it from the frame to show this. Since the buyer can check on that and return the item within a week of purchase, I don't believe that unframing the print and showing the edge is necessary. I am reluctantly selling these 4 prints (see my other listings) so the price is the price and offers won't be accepted. If a buyer purchases all four prints, I will offer free shipping within the US.

Hiroshi Yoshida's prints are from the Hanga period (approx 1904 to 1950) of Japanese printmaking. Innovative in design, all of Hiroshi Yoshida's work is based on scenes either from Japan or from his extensive travels throughout the world. The Yoshida family recreated many of Hiroshi's prints after his death that include a stamped signature. This is NOT a posthumous print. Because of the framing materials used, including the museum glass, the framing alone on this print was $450.
