Rare Antique Aynsley Landscape Cup and Saucer, Quatrefoil Shape

FACTORY:  Aynsley with a diamond-shaped registry English mark on the cup. Painted red pattern number "5868" on the saucer. 

Date: 3 July 1883

Size: The cup - 6.7 cm high/8.8 cm diameter. The saucer - 14 cm diameter. 

Condition: In excellent condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, damage or restoration. The whole cup has glaze crazing typical of British porcelain with some discoloration on the inside. The saucer has no crazing on the glaze. Minor gold wear commensurate with age and use.

Aynsley Landscape Cup and Saucer set in quatrefoil shape, pale blue ground with fine paintings of different landscape in each  panels on the cup and the saucer. Depicting an open field with trees, stones,  bridges, lakes, mountains and houses, these paintings are compeleted with single color, the composition is similar to the style of Chinese landscape painting. The cup, the saucer and the boundary of the panels are embellished with gold trims and decorated with hundred of gold beads. A highly decorative and charming cup and saucer set!
