Boss GE-7 Equalizer Pedal DIY Modification Kit
(This is a kit to modify your own pedal - PEDAL NOT INCLUDED) By replacing certain components you make your pedal sound/react differently. Therefore the best thing to do is to learn how to modify your existing pedals and that's when you'll achieve a blow-your-head-off GREAT SOUND. Not only is that a huge tone advantage, but you'll be able to do it...cheaply! Boutique pedals are far too expensive. Improvements you can expect with my mod kit... If you're getting tired of the noise and hiss of your Boss GE-7 then this kit is for you. Get rid of the noise that burdens the stock pedal. The problem with the stock GE-7, as with most boss pedals, is the use of cheap components. My mod kit replaces those inferior electrolytic caps with audio grade film caps, and the stock Op-amp chips replaced with high quality audio grade...NE5532P Chips. The result is silent pedal with none of the hiss and noise. A pedal that you can now actually use!!! Bit of Feedback It has made a great improvement to the sound: now my GE-7 is just as quiet as the MXR 6-band EQ pedal that I bought to replace it; but there seems to be a more warm "analogue" sound and greater possibilities for tonal variation with the GE-7 compared to the MXR, so I'm really happy with the result. Plus if you have an accident with one of the components, just email me and I'll replace it...at no extra cost! I supply you (emailed to your Ebay/Paypal address) with a step-by-step instruction manual. The instructions are dead easy to follow with plenty of pictures. Even a person with no experience of soldering can get the desired results. This is an easy project that can be completed in about 30 minutes. IMPORTANT: Boss started using 'surface mounted' components towards the end of 2016. Check (using the SMC circuit board example in the image above) that you've NOT got a pedal that has Surface Mounted Components (printed circuit board). Printed circuit boards (SMC) can't be modded.
