This is a silkscreen reproduction made by a French company named La Licorne. The original tapestry was made in Brussels around 1560 and resides in Wawel Castle in Krakow, Poland. It is titled Grotesque Sigismund. This grotesque cartridge bearing the monogram of King Sigismund Augustus is one of a series of four pieces. It has very rich still life scenes which frame the monogram: a basket of flowers and leaves, hanging clusters of plants, and southern or exotic fruits. In the lower area, two satyrs play long chanters alongside birds, draperies and masks.

There is a blue backing with steel rings for hanging. The tapestry measures roughly 56" x 74". It is 87% cotton and 13% rayon. If you have questions or want more detailed pictures, just email me. It has no smell. Sold as is. No returns.
