1st PHOTO: SHOWS the 4 perfect to original laser cut BRACKETS & the 4 exacting to original attachment screws that you will receive. These are show on either side next to the old “Z" bracket in the middle for comparison. It should be noted that the new brackets pictured were done by hand whereas the new ones (photos to come) are prefect laser cut to the originals and indistinguishable from factory originals.
2nd, 3rd & 4th PHOTOS: Illustrates from different views how the brackets mount to the base board (If desk base board is missing it is available on request) at the bottom of the desk shelf projection.
5th PHOTO: Shows the leg mounted from a rear shot using the "Z" brackets for reference only.
6th PHOTO: Shows an original leg (except the screws) mounted at the base of the desk to its mounting shelf (sometimes the shelf is missing we have a few in stock).

If slots are not large enough many of the original legs had a factory "spoon file" enlargement at just the mounting spots to custom fit the "Z" brackets. These are the best we have ever done and fit the leg slots on the back perfectly..These are essentially at cost to break even. The desk legs also shown in the ad are for reference only and for sale on another of our eBay posts. There is no stain on the sets being sold!

PHOTOS 10 THRU 12: Shows the desk legs as they appear installed on the desk and in various stacks for reference only! ITEM DESCRIPTION/DETAILS: THE ONLY SOURCE FOR THESE FOR THE LAST 100 YEARS! For those of you who are Globe Wernicke/Macey stack barrister legal bookcase collectors, restorers and fans these are EXACTLY what you need to finish detailing your bookcase desk units. This auction is for 4 (four) matching bookcase desk leg mounting "Z" bracket hardware assemblies and factory screws. I have seen many ways in which people have tried to cobble attaching the legs of the desk to the unit once the "Z" hardware has been lost. The most common improper ways of attachment is achieved is by giant wood screws and nails. None of these provide the stability required to secure the legs properly to the underside of the desk unit. I have gone to considerable expense, time and effort to have these produced again. These are very difficult to produce. First the original thickness gauge material had to be located. This is then cut to dimensional size and bent into a "Z" bracket matching the original shapes exactly. Then the counter sunk holes for the screw are drilled and finally the rounded corners are done by hand. The set comes with 4 correct brackets and 4 correct (to original) mounting wood screws. Given that these are not mass produced each bracket has small variations in finish but the overall size and hole placement is absolutely exacting to the originals. Once you place these into the slots at the back of your desk legs and anchor the wood screw in the exiting hole in your desk the installation just takes a few minutes and appear completely authentic when installed (see photos). The slots on the back of the legs' may require a spoon file at exactly the mounting point to get the brackets custom fitted smoothly in on your particular desk. This was done at the factory as well. Our new brackets fit the slot perfectly on the back and require NO spoon filing or work. Just mount and bolt on. These brackets are the only way to go to secure your legs for proper desk functioning and to protect the investment value of your stack. Any other form of attachment fails over time and lacks significant structural integrity for strength. These are matched from an original master set. I have had many calls for these in the past and they went for high prices to discriminating restorers. These are the only ones ever offered on eBay!
