I’m offering today an adorable and large size Horsman baby doll from the year 1964. She is a large size doll standing approximately 27" tall.  She has a vinyl body, which is jointed at the neck, arms and legs.  Her joints were a little loose, so I tightened them up with elastic for many more years of posing.  She has blonde hair, which I have washed and styled.  I left curls and pulled the sides back so her sweet curly bangs would highlight those beautiful blue eyes.   She has been washed and sanitized prior to dressing her.

I will start at the top of her head and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description.  Starting at the top of her head, she has curly thick blonde hair, which has been curled.  I pulled the sides back and made her a custom made hair band, which matches her adorable pink and white polka dotted two piece dress.  I took pink with white polka dots satin ribbon and made a large bow.  I then cut bright pink elastic ribbon to fit the dolls head perfectly and then hand sewed the large bow to the top of the elastic.  By doing this, it allows the bow to stand nice and upright on the dolls head.  By hand making these doll hair bands, you don't have to worry about them falling off and getting lost.  It takes lots of time to create these hair bows for each doll, but I really want their new mommy's to be proud of their new dolly.

As you go down to her face, she has single brown line for eyebrows.  She has lovely big blue eyes, which open and close nicely.  She has her original eyelashes which have been spared from the wrath of her previous little mommies.  Her eyes are quite large and look straight at you with such a sweet stare.  She has a dainty petite nose with open nostrils for realism which flows down to her precious open mouth.  Her lips are painted a light pink color with single hole for bottle feeding.  I do not give these older dolls water for fear of harming them, so I'll leave that up to her new mommy.  Her chubby baby cheeks have beautiful coloring, which really enhances those big blue eyes she has.  The back of her neck is hallmarked:  "Horsman Dolls, Inc., 1964, TB26".

I decided since she was such a large doll I'd dress her in a "big girl" dress, which is ready for the spring season.  This outfit is two pieces with a pink and white polka dotted "A" line sleeveless dress and adorable matching jacket/coat.  The dress is so sweet.  It comes down a bit from the neckline revealing her light skin.  The "A" line dress comes just above her knees and has four large white satin rosettes decorating the lower hemline.  The back of the dress has a zipper for easy removal.  Now to the jacket/coat.  The collar on the front of the jacket has a bit of rushing and comes up high under her neck.  The sleeves on the jacket are ruffled around the top of her wrists.  The front of the jacket is pleated allowing it to lay flat and nicely fitted.  There is a large white satin bow with a large white satin rosette in the center.  As you go around to the back of the jacket, it is pleated as well.  There are two large hidden snaps in the front of the jacket/coat for keeping it in place.  She looks so grown up.  She is wearing pastel pink hose which shows off those adorable white Mary Jane shoes.  Under her outfit, she is wearing pink panties.

My dolls are not played with by children who come and visit; I know that sounds mean, but sometimes they play too rough.  My dolls are kept in a doll room specifically for them and are displayed for everyone to enjoy.  All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children.  Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, or I've tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll.  We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor.  My dolls are clean and most of the time look as though they did when they were sold new.  Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth having; for each one is like children.....they are all beautiful in their mothers eyes.  If I've missed something it would never be intentional.

SIZE:

This vintage Horsman Baby doll is a larger doll measuring approximately 27" tall.

CONDITION:

This doll is Vintage, but in what I would consider good condition.  Her body has been cleaned and sanitized.  Her blonde hair has been washed and curled.  Her eyes open/close freely with her original eyelashes.  She is jointed and poses quite nicely.  She has all her fingers and toes.  Her dress is new and purchased just for this doll. Her doll shoes are vintage, but have never been worn by another doll.  They come from my personal doll shoe collection.

The photos really tell the story about this doll.  She is a beautiful doll and one of a kind.  Please view complete set of photos for thorough description.  I hope you can take a few minutes to look at my other dolls.  God bless you.  Connie
